PE - The Beef with BasesWelcome to the Beef with Bases article. This may get a little controversial, so put on your heavy duty hats!
By now, we should all know what a base is. But just for a refresher - A base is a bald, naked figure for people to 'doll' clothes onto. Lately, more people have been making animal bases as well. Some argue that since they can't be dressed up, they aren't proper bases. But a base is a vague term to begin with.

Why do so many people make bases? What's the allure? Many people just start doodling and end up with a body they don't plan on finishing. So why let it go to waste? They fix it up a bit and let other people use it, so maybe others will find inspiration where theirs left off. Other times people are inspired by a pose, and want to practice their anatomy and draw the body. Sometimes people even have an idea in mind - say... a big set of mermaid poses! Hello Everybody and welcome to my Stamp making guide. You may be wondering, why is ~TheSaltyMonster making a stamp guide? Well the answer is because a lot of people have been asking me how I make my stamps, and how to get started. So here it goes, and pardon the journal title.

If you use any of the resources I have included in this journal, make sure to credit the original artist in your deviation description

How to get started..
Well, first things come first: What do you want to make a stamp about? Is it dA related, is it of your favorite TV show, or food? Or is it just an inspirational quote?
This is absolutely the first step in planning.
Stamp Base
Is your message funny, girly, cute, serious? Depending on the type of message you're going to be portraying, you need to choose an appropriate stamp:

Tip of the Day: Doubters and HatersBefore you start off your career (or perhaps you just started your career) there tends to be more doubters and haters around you.
Most doubters and haters lurk at the bottom because they're too fearful or ignorant to try.
Sometimes many of our biggest doubters aren't bottom lurkers but our relatives or friends. Most of the time they mean well but they are not YOU. They don't know what you are capable of.
For many people, you are your worst hater and doubter. The only way you can find what you're capable of is by trying your absolute hardest. True failure comes from not trying!

drawing technique???Hei everyone,
Hope you are doing fine.
I want to give just a quick reply to the many people who wrote me messages asking about my drawing media and how to use it etc.
Well, the essence of asking about tricks or techniques might be asking for shortcuts.
Of course, there are a lot of tutorials 'how to draw' in the internet, and it is the easiest way just asking someone to teach.
But I choose the tough way always.
I want my artworks to be free, learned by own experience.
So if someone really want to draw like I do, they need to try to run their head against a wall and be more stubborn first.
Skill and technique is overrated anyway :>

MangaRecently I am working very hard on my weakpoints for climbing up to the next level of my career as manga-ka.
To be honest, it is kind of frustrating being confronted with your failures directly, and also painful. Japanese Manga is like martial arts for those who perform it.
But, I am learning more and more, never standing still because I want to become much stronger than now!

Yamino's Coloring TipsA lot of people tell me they like the way I color! It's pretty easy once you learn the tricks. I made a set color palette for each character (keeping their base colors consistent in any setting), then add shading and lighting effects over the image.
